Ugh - I wish I remembered to write more, but now that you're so big the days go by so fast. You and your brother are asleep next to me right now. Daddy is away in Chicago, so we're having a sleepover. We all sang This Land Is Your Land before you guys went to bed. Your brother loves reading to you. Sometimes you're totally into it, and other times you get mad because you can't see the pictures. Nicole and Angelica told me today that they think you're kind of annoyed that you're still at the daycare. That since most of the other pre-kinders have left for the summer, that you're ready to be done now. I can see it too. You're all of a sudden annoyed with the little kids, who have started to come on your side now. I can't believe we're almost done with this first small phase of your life. Yesterday you were the little kid crying, and now you can't be bothered by them. You graduated from pre-k a couple of weeks ago. I wish time would slow down a little, but I do know that I'm doing my very best to enjoy every moment together. I wonder if you realize how much I love you. I wonder if you know how much your brother thinks you're the best little sister. I wonder if you can tell that Daddy is breaking his back so that we can have fun nights like this.

I'm a little late in writing this, but on Tuesday you turned 5. Five. Fiiiiive. That's crazy. To me you still have short little pig tails, and here you are - five. You loved your birthday, and you had such a smile on your face whenever someone wished you a happy birthday. You loved singing Happy Birthday to yourself and changing the lyrics to "Happy birthday to me". We went to Ho Hos for dinner at your request, with Nonna, Papa, Gip, and Gramma.
Your birthday party is on Saturday night, and today actually you had kindergarten orientation. You seem nervous about going to kindergarten, but you keep telling me you're not. We got to take a bus ride, which you definitely thought was cool, and you told me that you made some friends. You still seemed apprehensive after, though.

I fell while running today and sprained my ankle. You took care of me by playing a game that involved putting Easter baskets on our heads, tossing a big blue ball to each other, and taking turns shooting the fart gun at each other. I had so much fun laughing with you. :)
